In our most recent conversation about Mere Christianity one of those in my discussion group shared that one thing she especially appreciated about the book was that it represented an intellectual approach to Christianity. While I agree that Lewis has attempted to take an honestly intellectual approach to Christianity I, intellectually, disagree with many of his points. Nevertheless, he has been intellectually honest to himself.
So, the specifics of Lewis' argument aside, is it helpful for you to see Christians that have clearly not checked their brains at the door of their church? Are there specific (intellectual) Christians that have been influential in how you understand and live out your faith?
