Sex. Hell. Universalism. This is all I will be blogging about in the future.
Ok, not really, but these certainly seem to be the topics people want to read about. In the past month my top three posts, in order, are:
- Losing Hell and Losing the Church
- Sex and the Bible: A Soliloquy
- Shh. This Post is About Universalism
These are the leaders by a rather healthy margin, too.
I'm no blogging genius, as you are well-aware if you read my blog, but there are three things I have focused on lately in my own blogging.
Integrity Simply put, people want you to be genuine. You know when you're not being genuine and so does everyone else. Write honestly and with integrity. Readers will begin to value your input and will keep coming back.
good well. No one likes to read something that looks like it was written by a fifth grader. Your readers are spending their time reading what you have written. Write like you believe that their time is valuable.
Also, fact check. Make the effort to make sure your claims and stats are well-documented. Lead your readers to your sources so they can see them for themselves. Offer quotes in context when possible.
Proofread. Then proofread again.
Controversy People are interested in controversial topics (see above). If you want more hits on your blog and more interaction from your readers, write about a controversial topic and clearly state your position. Many of your readers will not agree with you - some will vehemently disagree - but they will get engaged.
